Also the bit about the e-shop being around for 10 years reminded me people defending Bungie deleting (or vaulting as they like to call it, because they're totally going to bring this stuff back one day, totally) whole expansions of content. Just enjoy it now and in 20 years you can say you got to play and all the youngsters will be jealous as heck.Do you own any books older than 10 years? Any movies? Music? I've noticed people saying stuff like this, only ever tend to speak about video games like this, movies, books and music tend to get special treatment for some reason. So what? The ephemeral nature of life lends itself to fleeting experiences. I'm assuming these games are available for emulation and if not. The Wii U and 3DS eShops have been up and running for 10 and 11 years respectively. Replying to Ser_Benton I really don't understand the frustration. You can recommend whatever you want, but the big things here are the download-only exclusives that will be lost, and the games that are prohibitively expensive physically (e.g. the immovable object which will almost certainly not be bullied into backing down like Sony was - especially since they did this before with the Wii and DSi - let's recommend each other games to download before things go sideways. So since this is Nintendo we're talking about, i.e. This is not valid, and is, in fact, a hate crime.

Specifically, the 3DS and Wii U eShops will be shutting down in March 2023, although from a functional perspective, you only have until August 2022 at the latest to make any new purchases. For those unaware, this time it's Nintendo. I am emerging from my k-hole to once again be mad as fuck about asshole companies shutting down their online storefronts.
